Tulida Blackford, wife of the Rev. John C. Blackford (who died Feb. 2010), died tonight (Memorial Day, May 28, 2012) about 8:00 p.m. in her home of natural causes, surrounded by family. She had been struggling with heart failure for some time. The family is tentatively planning visitation on Friday starting at 4:00 p.m., and tentatively for the funeral at Forest Hills UMC, Forest Lake, on Sat., June 1 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will also be at the church one hour before the funeral, and the funeral will be followed by lunch at the church, after which the family will gather for a private internment. I have come to know, love and respect Tulida in my three years at Forest Hills, and I give God deep thanks for her. She has been ready to go to her eternal home, and today marks the beginning of her new life in eternity. Please let me know if there is anything else I need to do with the Conference about Tulida’s death. God is good!
